What Is Abhrak Bhasma?

Abhrak Bhasma is an Ayurvedic mineral formulation made by repeatedly calcining purified mica (Abhraka) with various herbal decoctions and juices—sometimes hundreds of iterations (“Shataputi”)—resulting in a fine, bioavailable powder rich in minerals like iron, magnesium, potassium, and trace elements.

 Traditional & Therapeutic Benefits

1. Respiratory & Immune Support

·         Widely used to relieve asthma, bronchitis, chronic cough, cold, and sinusitis, by reducing mucus and strengthening lung tissue.

·         Enhances immunity and protection against upper respiratory infections.

2. Digestive Health & Acidity

·         Helps with indigestion, gas, ulcers, GERD, heartburn, and constipation, partly due to its antacid, deepan‑pachan actions, and microbial effects against H. pylori.

3. Anemia & Vitality Booster

·         Acts as a hematogenic agent to improve hemoglobin and red blood cell count; useful in iron-deficiency anemia, boosting quality of life and energy.

4. Cardiovascular & Metabolic Effects

·         Considered cardio‑tonic: supports heart function, lowers mild hypertension, improves circulation, and combats atherosclerosis.

5. Nervous System & Cognitive Support

·         A nervine tonic used in managing epilepsy, migraine, memory loss, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and other cognitive issues.

6. Anti‑Aging & Rejuvenation (Rasayana)

·         Particularly Shataputi Abhrak (100‑times processed) is used as a rejuvenative agent to enhance vitality, memory, strength, and longevity.

7. Reproductive Health

·         Acts as Vajikarana: enhances libido, sperm count, and reproductive function in both men and women; supports nerve and testicular health.

8. Liver, Spleen & Other Conditions

·         Demonstrates hepatoprotective properties; supports liver function in hepatitis, cirrhosis and splenic disorders. Also used in chronic bleeding, fistula healing, urinary infections, and anti-tapeworm action.
