Pure Vang Bhasma (Tin Clex)

about Vanga Bhasma (sometimes spelled Bang Bhasma or Vang Bhasam), an Ayurvedic formulation made from purified tin called shuddha vanga. Here's a detailed look at its benefits, uses, preparation, dosage, and precautions:

What is Vanga Bhasma?

  • A traditional Ayurvedic medicine prepared by repeatedly heating and purifying tin (Sn), often combined with herbal juices like Aloe vera, Achyranthes, and Ficus religiosa to form fine calx powder
  • Analytical studies show the final product is a non-toxic oxide with ultrafine particle size and exhibits antimicrobial activity against pathogens like E. coli, S. aureus, K. pneumoniae and Candida species .

Beneficial Effects and Traditional Uses

Medicinal Properties

As per Ayurveda, Vanga Bhasma is: adaptogenic, analgesic, androgenic, anthelmintic, anti-arthritic, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, lithiatic, hematogenic, muscle relaxant, aphrodisiac, emmenagogue, and ovulation stimulant

Main Health Benefits

  • Urinary Health: Helps treat urinary tract infections, frequent urination, burning micturition, and other bladder issues by pacifying Pitta dosha and improving urine flow .
  • Reproductive Health (Male & Female): Supports male fertility, addresses impotence, early semen discharge issues, and testicular inflammation such as orchitis or epididymitis when used with other herbs like Chandraprabha Vati, Pippali, Shilajit, etc. It’s also used to support female reproductive wellness in conditions like anovulation, PMS, amenorrhea, leucorrhea, and menopause-related irregularities .
  • Digestive & Metabolic Support: Acts as an appetite stimulant (deepan), improves digestion and digestion fire, and supports weight management by reducing metabolic waste (ama) .
  • General Weakness & Anemia: Balya and hematogenic actions help strengthen the body, improve complexion, enhance stamina, and may support recovery from anemia by boosting red blood cell formation
  • Respiratory Support: Traditionally used in managing asthma, chronic bronchitis, cough, phlegm, and respiratory congestion by clearing Kapha toxins (ama) from lungs

How It's Prepared

  • Tin is purified and heated with herbal powders and aloe vera juice to form thin discs.
  • These discs undergo multiple cycles (typically 7 or more) of controlled high-temperature incineration (puta) in sealed conditions until fully oxidized into fine particles

Dosage & Administration

  • Typical dose: 65 mg to 125 mg once or twice daily (some sources mention up to 250 mg), usually taken with honey, ghee, milk, or warm water depending on patient’s constitution and condition
  • Duration varies by condition, often used for 1–3 months under supervision
  • Should only be taken upon consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner; avoid self-medication due to risk of toxicity or gastritis if overdosed

 Side Effects & Precautions

  • Generally well tolerated when taken at prescribed dosage.
  • Overdose risk: May cause gastritis, nausea, vomiting, and digestive discomfort
